Governance and Policy Management Tasks
- Design and development of a corporate governance framework
The first and most important task is for management to prepare policies and regulations that govern labor relations, decision-making mechanisms, and organizational structures. This includes defining powers, documenting control procedures, and developing a corporate governance guide.
- Ensuring compliance with laws
The Governance and Policy Department is committed to monitoring the university's compliance with local and international legislation, particularly in regulated sectors such as banks, insurance companies, and public institutions. This includes coordinating with the Compliance Department and updating internal policies in accordance with legal changes.
- Enhancing transparency and accountability
This is done by preparing periodic reports for the university administration, documenting workflow, and measuring the performance of different departments through clear and objective governance indicators.
- Continuous evaluation of the level of governance and review of policies at the university
The administration periodically reviews the level of compliance with governance procedures and policies, whether through internal audits or through surveys and workshops, to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Training and awareness of governance culture
The Policy and Governance Department seeks to promote an institutional culture based on transparency and integrity, through organizing awareness programs and training workshops targeting employees and senior management.
- Coordination with the Risk Management and Internal Audit Department
Governance management is considered part of the “third line of defense” within the framework of corporate governance, and works alongside internal audit and risk management departments to provide effective control mechanisms.
