The Saudi Electronic University, Jeddah Branch (Female Section), in collaboration with the Law Club, organized an outstanding awareness event titled "Educational Program on the Rights of Travelers," under the supervision of Mrs. Bayan Al-Murawani, with the participation of a select group of 15 law students. This activity aimed to raise awareness among students and university members about their rights as travelers and how to deal with challenges they may face while traveling.
The event began as a real travel experience, where participants were given flight tickets, allowing them to experience the feeling of being travelers. During this virtual journey, participants faced a series of real-life challenges, such as luggage delays, flight cancellations, flight delays, denied boarding, and downgrades to economy class. These real-life scenarios were simulated, giving attendees the opportunity to experience how to handle travel-related problems.
After experiencing these interactive challenges, participants moved to the final stage, where they received vital legal information related to their rights as travelers. This information included how to claim compensation according to the regulations of the Civil Aviation Authority. This event helped participants understand how to deal with potential issues during travel, enhancing their awareness and providing a legal foundation that reinforces their understanding of their personal rights.
Dr. Bayan Al-Murawani expressed her happiness with the success of the event and emphasized the importance of such activities in preparing students to face real-world challenges. She also praised the level of interaction and participation from the students, which reflects their interest in the topic of travelers' rights and enhances their sense of responsibility regarding their rights.
The event was well received by attendees, reflecting its success in achieving its educational and cultural objectives. The Law Department looks forward to organizing more events that raise awareness and contribute to the spread of legal culture.
