A Memorandum of Understanding between the Saudi Electronic University and Deloitte to Provide an Apprenticeship Program

Saudi Electronic University signed a memorandum of understanding with Deloitte and Touche Middle East Limited, on Monday, April 13, 2020 (virtually), to launch an Apprenticeship scheme designed by the company and implemented by SEU.

 

 

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the University by the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Thamer bin Omar Al-Hussain, and on behalf of Deloitte, CEO and partner, Mr. Khaled Al-Sagga.

 

 

Dr. Thamer Al-Hussain said that this Apprenticeship aims to provide an open invitation for visionary and innovative high school graduates to explore the world of professional services and to offer opportunities to individuals between the ages of 18 and 22 to obtain world-class professional training with the company.

 

 

He added that candidates could work and study for a bachelor’s degree in a variety of courses at SEU, a pioneer in blended learning, which will be the dominant mode of learning in the future.

 

He also assured that the memorandum provides a unique opportunity to facilitate the kingdom’s vision 2030 by digitally developing the workforce. In addition, it will implement a new approach in higher education that relies on applications, technical tools, and communication technology. This new partnership model between academia and the business sector will have a positive societal impact.

 

 

Dr. Al-Hussain thanked the Rector of SEU, prof. Ibrahim Almuaiqel for his continuous support towards this agreement and all projects and initiatives that benefit the university students and achieve the university goals.

 

 

 

From his part, Mr. Khaled Al-Sagga, CEO and partner of Deloitte in Saudi Arabia, stated that this apprenticeship targets high school graduates accepted at SEU (males and females). Participants are employed at Deloitte Company with a competitive salary and the opportunity to work with prominent clients in one of the leading consulting firms in the world, as well as a university degree with paid study leave. He also assured that participants’ tuitions will be paid in full by Deloitte. This agreement will be put into effect in the next academic year, September 2020.
