A Delegation from Apple Visits the College of Computing and Informatics

A delegation from Apple company headed by Mrs. Brenda Brierley the responsible for Apple’s professional training centers in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa, and Eng. Sharifa Ali, Head of Education for Apple in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, visited the College of Computing and Informatics to discuss and strengthen ways of cooperation between the two parties.

The delegation was received by His Excellency Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Al-Jabr, the Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics and Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, in the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Suha Abdullah Al-Hilali, Vice Dean for College of Computing and Informatics for Female Student Affairs, and Dr. Muhammad Habib, a specialist in smart device applications.

During the meeting, ways of cooperation between the university and Apple were discussed. They also introduced the university, its achievements, academic programs, university systems, departments, and teaching methodologies based on the principle of blended learning were presented, by focusing on applied skills that enable students to create, innovate and develop. Which was reflected positively on its academic reputation and on the chances of its graduates in the labor market.

They reviewed the future areas of cooperation between the two parties, as they discussed professional certificates in academic programs. In addition, the implementation of many specialized training programs that will be provided to faculty members and students, whether inside or outside the university as a service provided by the Saudi Electronic University for community service.

At the end of the visit, the delegation expressed their keenness to strengthen strategic cooperation and joint work between the university and Apple and they hope that aspects of this cooperation will be strengthened in the coming days, especially with the College of Computing and Informatics in the field of program support and enabling students to study important aspects related to the college's majors. To meet the aspirations and needs of the labor market.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ahmed Al-Jabr welcomed all aspects of cooperation with the Global Apple Company to invest the added values of both parties in order to serve and achieve the university's vision of pioneering the use of technology in education to contribute to national development and to keep pace with global changes in the field of information revolution and knowledge acquisition and management, in implementation of the direction in the Kingdom's vision 2030 towards digital transformation.
