Meeting with leaders of Saudi universities at Princess Noura University
His Excellency the Director of the Saudi Electronic University, Professor Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Moaqil, praised the outputs of the Leadership for University Education meeting, which was sponsored and attended by His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sheikh, which was hosted by Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University, in the presence of university directors in the Kingdom.
Dr. Al-Moaqil said that the state, dear to God, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince, does not spare an effort to support education with all its basic components to cover the needs of the labor market, sustainable development and advancement of the homeland in all fields. Stressing the great efforts and support of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al Sheikh for all Saudi universities, in order to achieve a better future for male and female students in the Kingdom.
Al-Moaqil explained that the new university system contributes, God willing, to the development of the educational and research process, and raises the efficiency of developing financial resources and human capabilities and enables universities to build their academic, financial and administrative regulations according to the general policies approved by the new university affairs council, expressing his appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Education Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al-Sheikh for his efforts and follow-up to establish and develop this system. It is useful that this system will contribute to enriching scientific research, searching for new funding sources, and saving the operational cost of government universities.
The introductory leaders ’meeting included the following axes: reviewing the road map for implementing the new university system, discussing organizational structures and operational cost efficiency for universities, converting community colleges into applied colleges to harmonize the labor market, and discussing the efficiency of technical systems and cyber security for universities.
