The SEU Rector Designate, Prof. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Muaqil, chaired the second meeting of the Standing Consultative Committee for Arabic Language yesterday at the university. He also signed an educational services contract with Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Sabeel, the Governing Council Chairperson of the Islamic University in Uganda, to benefit from the SEU's Arabic Online program for non-native speakers and the Standardized Arabic Test; a tool to measure language proficiency, which the University is going to use in order to promote the Arabic language in Uganda and serve those who are interested in learning Arabic. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Muaqil briefed the Committee on the most important initiatives and partnerships that the SEU undertook in relation to the Arabic Language Program over the past period. He also pointed out that both programs – Arabic Online and the Standardized Arabic Test - have full support and attention because of their major role in spreading the concept and culture of Arabic language internationally. Afterwards, the Committee reviewed its agenda and made the necessary recommendations. For his part, Dr. Abdul Mohsen al-Aqili, head of Arabic for non-Native Speakers Department, introduced a presentation for the Committee members on the latest developments regarding the celebration of the International Day of Arabic Language entitled "Arabic Language and Artificial Intelligence" to be organized by the university. Regarding the educational services contract with the Islamic University, Dr. Al-Muaiqel added: “The University is devoted to provide a distinguished academic environment that contributes to the enhancement of cognitive communication and reach out to different cultures and civilizations worldwide. It also seeks to spread the Arabic language globally." He indicated that the university has employed modern technology to serve those who want to learn Arabic around the world. Therefore, it facilitated the learning of Arabic language with effective efficiency and high quality for all elements of the educational process and its outputs.​
