Under the Auspices of SEU Rector, Dr. Alkhorayef Meets Deans of E-Learning in Saudi Universities

Under the auspices of His Excellency, the University Rector Prof. Ibrahim Almuaiqel, Dr. Abdulrahman Alkhorayef, Deputy Minister of Education – Higher Education, chaired a meeting with deans of e-learning and distance education in Saudi universities to discuss universities' preparation and infrastructure of technology. The meeting held today Sunday at the headquarters of Saudi Electronic University in Riyadh, with the presence of the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Thamer Alhussain and the Vice-Rector for Branches, Dr. Abdullah Alrehimi.

The Rector of SEU pointed out that the meeting comes within the guidance and following-up of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Alsheikh. It is in line with Saudi universities’ movement towards activating technology and adopting its tools to serve the educational and research process, develop the education environment, and support creativity and excellence. This would improve educational outcomes to fulfill the needs of the Saudi labor market, sustainable development, and the Kingdom's 2030 vision.

Dr. Almuaiqel said that the University is willing to share its rich experience in the field of blended education and the use of tools and applications of modern technology in cooperation with leading international universities that have common interests. Therefore, the University welcomes the cooperation with universities or any public and private institutions in terms of the field of content and academic e-curricula.

He added, “The University provided several training courses in cooperation with Middle East Board for Information Technology (BME) for employees of the deanships of e-learning and distance education in Saudi universities besides providing technical support to them. They had training on using (Blackboard) which belongs to the National License Project and is supervised by Saudi Electronic University”.

The Rector of SEU expressed his appreciation and thanks to His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Alsheikh for his unremitting efforts and continuous concern to the development of universities and educational services provided.
