The practical training for the Data Science Program is a course within the bachelor’s programs at the College of Computing and Informatics, in which the student completes 280 training hours over a full academic semester, either in the public or private sector, in fields related to their specialization. The student is required to demonstrate an understanding of the latest technologies relevant to their specialization.
General Conditions

Completing the registration form and having it stamped by the training organization.

The training start date must comply with the date specified in the announcement.

The training must be conducted on-site at the training location and not remotely; this must be confirmed by the organization through the registration form.

Any training that the student begins before obtaining final approval from the College Training Committee will not be recognized.

All requirements must be submitted within the specified deadlines; failure to do so will result in the student not passing the course.
Registration Requirements (for Students):
- The student must register for the practical training course within the announced dates on the practical training page.
- The student must have completed the minimum required credit hours to be eligible for registering in the cooperative/practical training course according to their study plan.
- The student is allowed to register for academic courses alongside the practical training, with a maximum of three courses.
- The training duration must not be less than 280 training hours and must extend over a full academic semester.
- The training tasks listed in the form must be related to the student’s field of specialization and include at least five different tasks.
Organization Acceptance Requirements
- The organization must be related to the student’s specialization (Computer Science, Information Technology, or Data Science).
- The organization must be officially recognized and registered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (governmental, semi-governmental, or licensed private sector).
- The organization must provide a direct supervisor with appropriate qualifications and experience in the relevant field.
- The organization must ensure a suitable and safe working environment for the trainee and comply with occupational safety regulations.
- Communication must be conducted through the organization’s official email (from its institutional domain).
- The student issues a letter addressed to the training organization through the icon available in Student Services.
- The student prints the letter directly from Student Services and must ensure that it specifies training for the current academic semester. Note that the letter is updated starting from the official registration start date.
- The student submits the letter and the registration form to the training organization.
- The training organization completes and stamps the registration form.
- The student fills out the form available on the training page on the college website and uploads both the letter issued from Student Services and the registration form within the same form.
(Note: The student may prepare the files in advance; however, applications will not be processed until the registration period ends.) - The training duration must not be less than 280 training hours over a full academic semester, include at least five different tasks, and the training tasks listed in the registration form must be related to the field of specialization.
- The student will be notified if the information in the form is rejected or requires modification.
- The Training Committee reviews the files; if accepted, the student will receive an email with preliminary approval. If not approved, the student will not receive a preliminary approval email and will not be registered for practical training for that semester.
- Registration approval is considered preliminary approval. Final approval is granted only if the student meets the required number of completed credit hours for the intended semester. If the required hours are not met, the training registration will be automatically cancelled.
- Final approval will be sent to the student via email after the current semester’s results are officially approved.
- Attending regular meetings with the university supervisor.
- Submitting the required reports:
- A report from the training-site supervisor evaluating the student’s performance at the midpoint of the training period.
- A report from the training-site supervisor evaluating the student’s performance at the end of the training period.
- A report prepared by the student detailing what was accomplished and learned, as well as the challenges faced during the training period.
- A final presentation and discussion at the end of the training period.
