Program Overview

The English Language and Translation Department at the Saudi Electronic University was established at the beginning of the academic year 1435 AH (corresponding to 2014) by the approval of the Higher Education Council in its 75th session held on 1/2/1435 AH, under Resolution No. (23/75/1435).

The department, which offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Diploma degrees in English Language and Translation, aspires to be a pioneer in English language education and translation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It achieves this through a specialized, high-quality program that adopts a modern scientific teaching methodology distinguished by diverse teaching approaches and the use of technology and modern educational tools across all program tracks and study levels. The program provides students with a deep knowledge base while offering ample practical training in both written and oral translation.

A top priority for the department is to linguistically prepare its students, provide them with intensive knowledge, enhance their linguistic and cognitive competencies, and expand their cultural understanding related to the English language. This solid foundation enables students to build bridges of intellectual communication with English-speaking communities around the world, equipping them with exceptional skills and abilities in both written and oral translation.
