Saudi Electronic University Branch in Jeddah, under the auspices of the Deanship of Student Affairs, hosted a security scientific symposium organized by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control in Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region. This event, held in collaboration with the Emirate of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, forms a vital component of the Prevention Ambassadors in University Environments initiative.

The primary objective of the symposium was to bolster awareness among university students and the wider community regarding the perils of drug abuse. Emphasis was placed on elevating the level of security consciousness among students.

Diverse topics were addressed throughout the symposium, with a focus on elucidating the religious, social, and psychological hazards associated with substance abuse both on the individual and societal levels. Attendees were enlightened on prevalent practices and underlying factors leading to substance misuse.

Moreover, the symposium featured distinguished speakers, including Dr. Ibrahim Al Qasimi, who delved into the social ramifications of drug abuse with his presentation titled "The Impact of Drugs on the Social Side." On the other hand, Dr. Amani Muhammad Othman shed light on the health implications through her presentation entitled "The Impact of Drugs on the Health Side." And Dr. Sahel bin Abdul Rahman Al Zahrani explored the psychological dimension under the title "The Effect of Drugs on the Psychological Side." Further, Major Wael bin Saad Al-Hazani contributed to the security aspect with his discourse titled "Security Awareness to Prevent Crimes of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances." Dr. Khaled Shaaban played a pivotal role in managing the symposium.

This symposium underscores the University's commitment to collaborating with various sectors to underscore its role in promoting social responsibility within the community.
