NEOM Artificial Intelligence Challenge

The College of Computing and Informatics invites you to participate in the NEOM Artificial Intelligence Challenge.
NEOM AI Challenge is an initiative under the Global AI Summit targeting students from Saudi universities to solve challenges in NEOM using Artificial Intelligence.

Assign Teams 03/05/2020
Submit Solutions 01/09/2020
Challenge Day 16/09/2020

 

 

 

Registration Criteria:

  • University to participate with one team/ solution for each challenge.
  • Team to consist of 3 5 members representing their respective university.
  • Team members to be present on the day of the challenge to showcase their solution.
  • Solution to be based on AI models and concepts.
  • Solution to be innovative and serving the purpose of the challenge.

 

Area of the Challenges:

Energy: NEOM will be the world’s most advanced renewable energy hub, and the first at-scale fully renewable energy system. Energy innovation will unquestionably change the way people live, interact and conduct business. How Artificial Intelligence can be utilized to achieve this vision? The proposed AI solutions could target the following:

  • Create optimized energy mix: 100% renewable energy at record low cost.
  • Setup cost competitive water supply with minimal environmental impact.
  • Establish leading integrated customer experience incl. decentral
  • Build clean energy-intensive industries (green H2 and brine processing).
  • Create NEOM energy and water innovation ecosystem.

 

Entertainment: NEOM will be recognized as a global industry leader for next-generation entertainment delivering a breadth of unique experiences that overwhelm the senses. How Artificial Intelligence can be utilized to achieve this vision? The proposed AI solutions could be designed to attain the following principles:

  • All-in-one: Multiple experiences converging in one offering.
  • Fun for a purpose: Entertainment offerings as a means for education and learning.
  • Social Experiences: Collective experiences in traditionally individual formats.
  • Enhanced Reality: Advanced & immersivedisplay, cutting edge technology.
  • The segment of one: Increasingly personalized offerings, capturing patterns and habits of repeat visitors.

 

Mobility: NEOM’s mobility vision is to create the world’s first truly sustainable, seamlessly connected land mobility system, leading innovation and integration of autonomous solutions’. How Artificial Intelligence can be utilized to achieve this vision? The proposed AI solutions could be designed to attain the following principles:

  • Electric, and zero-emission vehicles.
  • Active and micro mobility
  • Autonomous shared mobility and public transit
  • On-Demand and connected services.
