The Saudi Electronic University, through its College of Computing and Informatics, has enthusiastically supported and facilitated the participation of its students in AthkaU competition, organized by SDAIA. This local contest serves as a precursor to the global Imagine Cup sponsored by Microsoft.
Official announcements were made, and students were contacted via email to encourage their participation. The initiative aimed to showcase the university's representation on both local and international stages, reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to fostering its students' scientific and technical skills.
Following the application process, the college's Activities Committee thoroughly selected twenty outstanding students, both male and female, who expressed interest in participating. SDAIA provided two weeks of intensive training for these candidates. During this period, the university graciously accommodated the students' schedules, ensuring they had ample time to train and derive maximum benefit from the program. Additionally, faculty members were appointed as supervisors to further guide and assist the participants throughout the contest.
In the initial phase of the competition, three teams were shortlisted to advance to the national level by the Activities Committee, chaired by Dr. Nahla Al-Qathami, after a rigorous internal competition among the teams.
