As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of academic advising and support students in their educational journey, the Academic Advising Committee at the College of Computing and Informatics organized a virtual workshop titled "The Academic Advising Orientation Program. 30/01/on2025 " The workshop was conducted via the Blackboard platform with the aim of introducing students to the importance of academic advising and its role in fostering their academic success.
The workshop covered several key topics, including an introduction to academic advising and its significance, the roles and responsibilities of academic advisors, and the means of communication between students and their academic advisors. Additionally, a detailed presentation was given on the mechanism for activating academic advising within the college, ensuring that students can maximize its benefits.
At the end of the workshop, time was allocated to address students' inquiries regarding various academic aspects, allowing for direct engagement and offering appropriate guidance.
The workshop successfully achieved several key objectives: highlighting the importance of academic advising in enhancing students' university experiences, raising awareness of effective communication between students and advisors to ensure they receive the necessary guidance, and encouraging students to make use of available resources to improve their academic performance.
