Master in Cyber S​ecurity

Program Introduction

The Master’s Program in Cybersecurity provides students with advanced knowledge required to excel in the highly competitive contemporary technology industry. The program focuses on organizational cybersecurity and equips students with the knowledge, skills, and capabilities needed to prevent and protect institutional data from the risks of digital crimes. The courses emphasize critical analysis skills, technical skills, and extensive use of virtual laboratories via the internet.

This program is designed for students who wish to pursue their professional careers as information technology specialists with the goal of protecting their organizations’ information from external breaches.

By integrating theory with practical application, students gain an understanding of information systems fundamentals and how to manage information technology within the context of cybercrime fundamentals. The program also covers security and legal aspects that impact information security in cyberspace.

  2. Empowering students with soft skills and values to communicate and collaborate effectively with others in a professional, ethical, and legal manner.
  3. Ensuring that students’ knowledge and skills are aligned with the latest cybersecurity technologies.
  1. Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. If the degree is from abroad, it must be equivalently certified according to the Ministry of Education’s credential equivalency program.
  2. The cumulative GPA in the bachelor’s degree must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00 or 3.00 out of 5.00, or its equivalent, based on admission competition and seat availability. The College Council may grant exceptions, provided the GPA is not less than 1.5 out of 4.00 or 2.5 out of 5.00, or its equivalent, depending on seat availability.

  3. Submit a valid result from one of the approved English language tests:

    • IELTS-Academic: minimum score of 5

    • STEP: minimum score of 76

    • TOEFL IBT: minimum score of 45
      Exemptions:

    • Graduates of Saudi Electronic University programs taught in English with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4.00 or higher.

    • Applicants holding a bachelor’s degree from a university in a country where English is the native language*, provided the university is recognized by the Ministry of Education.
      *Countries: USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand

  4. Test results must not exceed the following validity periods:

    • TOEFL IBT: 2 years

    • STEP: 3 years

    • IELTS-Academic: 3 years
      Only one language test needs to be submitted.

  5. Acceptable bachelor’s specializations: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, and Information Technology. Applicants must also meet the Saudi Cybersecurity Framework requirements for higher education (CyberEd).

  6. The applicant must be Saudi or a non-Saudi resident living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  7. Provisionally admitted students are required to pay the tuition fee for the first semester to obtain final admission.
