About the Unit
The Research Communication and Scientific Journals Unit is responsible for supervising the peer-reviewed journals published by the university and monitoring the publication and scientific review processes in accordance with the highest academic standards. It works to develop editorial policies and ensure compliance with publishing ethics, in addition to seeking to index journals in global databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. It also oversees regular publication schedules and integration with other publishing units, thereby enhancing the quality of scientific output and contributing to raising the university's standing locally and internationally.
Unit's Tasks
- Supervising the university's peer-reviewed journals and following up on the publication process from receipt to release.
- Coordinate with editorial boards and journal editors and ensure compliance with approved editorial policies.
- Develop and update publishing policies in line with international best practices.
- Monitoring the regular scheduling of magazine issues and ensuring compliance with the number of annual issues.
- Prepare and follow up on performance reports and indicators for magazines.
- Monitoring updates on scientific journal rankings and indicators and proposing continuous development plans.
