Affirming the Saudi Electronic University’s commitment to caring for its students and creating an educational environment characterized by transparency, fairness, equity, and equality among its members, in order to ensure the improvement of the quality of university education and promote the values of high academic practice, and believing that the student represents the main focus in the educational system, the university seeks to guarantee students’ rights and consolidate their institutional affiliation, while raising their awareness of their rights and duties towards their colleagues and university community.
Accordingly, the university established specialized committees to protect students' rights at three levels:
First: The Sub-Committee for the Protection of Students' Rights in Colleges:
- The subcommittee is responsible for reviewing all student grievances and complaints related to their respective college, excluding cases concerning university administrative units outside the college. This subcommittee is the first point of contact for students submitting their grievances or complaints, and it has exclusive jurisdiction over college-related matters to ensure the effective and fair protection of students' rights.
- The committee reports directly to the dean of the college, and recommendations and outputs are submitted to him for appropriate action.
Second: The Standing Committee for Students' Rights:
- The committee is responsible for reviewing grievances submitted by students and issuing appropriate recommendations regarding them.
- The committee considers grievances and complaints submitted against administrative units of the university outside the scope of colleges, including grievances against decisions of subcommittees or complaints that have not been decided by the subcommittee within the specified period.
- The committee holds meetings periodically, or at the invitation of its chairman as needed, to consider complaints and grievances referred to it.
- The committee is formed by a decision of the university president, and reports directly to him.
Third: The Higher Committee for Student Rights
- It is responsible for considering objections submitted against the decisions of the Standing Committee.
- The committee holds meetings periodically, or at the invitation of its chairman as needed, to consider complaints and grievances referred to it.
- The committee is formed by a decision of the university president.
