SEU Participates in PNU's Poetry Translation Competition
A team from the English Language and Translation Department in the college of Science and Theoretical Studies at SEU participated in the Poetry Translator competition held by the Wikipedia Club for poetry translation on May 7, 2023. The competition was held virtually by the Wikipedia Club at Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University. Wherein the text to be translated was sent to all participants by email, provided that it is translated and sent back within 3 hours.
The participating team, which represented SEU at the competition, consisted of students from the English Language and Translation Department, namely Mishary Alenezi, Sumaya Al-Sufyani, and Asma Bashmal.
The competition targets language students at Saudi universities to compete in translating poetry from English and French into Arabic. The competition aims to support the field of poetry translation and to contribute to the movement of poetry translation in an attempt to keep pace with the most prominent cultural initiatives for the year 2023 (the year of Arabic poetry).
