Invitation to Participate in The Debate Competition for Female Students in All Branches

Under the patronage of the Vice Rector of Student Affairs, Saudi Electronic University announces a debate competition in English for female students in all branches.
The winning team will represent the university at the Saudi University Female debate competition
Competition Format
- Two teams each of 3 members, compete in each debate.
The first team (proposition) presents their constructive speech regarding the topic at issue, and the other team (opposition) rebuts the topic, regardless of the contestants' personal opinion.
- Each debate consists of 8 speeches.
Each speaker will have a five-minute speech, then each team will give a 3-minute rebuttal, the last word is (for the proposition team).
Requirements for participation
- English Language proficiency with the following:
- A score equal to or more than 90 on the STEP test, or 6 on IELTS.
- For the First Common Year students, either to obtain the above grades or to be at the second level for this semester.
- Fluent in English.
- Concentration and quick-witted response.
- Effective listening based on summarizing ideas and finding arguments.
- Targeted search.
- Good pronunciation.
- Self-confidence.
- The ability to express ideas easily.
- The ability to debate with arguments neutrally.
- The ability to face the audience.
- The ability to work under pressure and collaborate with the team.
The competition will be in 3 stages:
The first stage: at the branch level.
The second stage: at all branches level, between the winning team in the first stage.
The third stage: at the Saudi University Female debate competition (Representing SEU team in the second semester 1441 AH).
Notes:
- The last day for participation will be on Monday, December, 2 2019, to apply please click on the application link.
- The winning team at the second and third stage will be given awards and certificates.
- The competition includes all female students in all branches.
