A cultural Evening about the Translator and her/his Creative Tools by Dr. Noha Alowaidhi
The SEU Jeddah Branch recently hosted a cultural evening organized by Dr. Noha Al-Awaidhi, a distinguished faculty member in the College of Science and Theoretical Studies – Translation Department. Titled "The Translator and Her/His Creative Tools," the event was presented in collaboration with the literary partner, Al-Mahra Salon in the Gloryal Lounge, affiliated with the Literature and Publishing Authority.
The evening commenced with Dr. Noha providing an insightful overview of translation achievements, delving into the theme of "the power of language and its influence" with a systematic and scientific approach. Dr. Noha skillfully explored the aesthetics of translation, scrutinizing its components and semantic dimensions in texts while emphasizing the preservation of cultural identity.
The event was expertly moderated by female students from the Electronic Media Department, namely Maha Al-Juhani and Diala Allaf. Attended by intellectuals and enthusiasts from diverse segments of society with an interest in translation and literature, the evening offered a platform for Dr. Noha to share her local and international participations along with her literary experiences. Subsequently, the floor was opened for audience interventions and discussions, culminating in a moment of recognition and appreciation for the participants.
