Minister of education launches the new strategy and identity of Saudi Electronic University

His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad M. Al -Sheikh, launched the five-year strategy and the Saudi Electronic University's new identity. He also viewed a number of projects that will enhance academic outcomes and achieve the Kingdom's leadership in digital education and comprehensive national development. This came today during his visit to the headquarters of the university in Riyadh. He was welcomed by the President of the Saudi Electronic University, Prof. Lilac Alsafadi. In addition, His Excellency was briefed on the university's achievements and efforts in higher education and digital learning over the past years through nine branches in the cities of the Kingdom, which is based on adopting technology to provide high-quality and efficient education, and to transfer and localize innovation and knowledge in cooperation with universities, bodies and faculty members locally and internationally. At the beginning, Dr. Al-Sheikh met with the university leaders. Then, he watched a presentation of smart classes that allow the faculty member to provide live interactive sessions to students in the nine branches. As this experience seeks to improve the educational process and expand in the Kingdom regions. Afterward, he visited the learning management system's follow-up room and was briefed on the work progress. His Excellency, the Minister of Education and President of the University, went to the spot of launching the new identity and then viewing the five-year strategic plan, which aims to achieve seven main goals for the Kingdom's vision and 37 sub-goals of the three vision chapters. It is expected to contribute to achieving nine goals for the Ministry of Education, 11 goals for the development of human capabilities program, four goals for the National Digital Transformation Plan, and nine goals for sustainable development. Moreover, His Excellency the Minister of Education launched the Global Trends of E-Learning Exhibition, which was held by using the VR and gyroscope technologies. From her part, Dr. Lilac Alsafadi appreciated the visit of His Excellency the Minister of Education to the university. She said, "We are honored of His Excellency's visit, through which he met with the university leaders, and was briefed on the university's achievements and initiatives through adopting technology to boost interaction and enhance the efficiency and quality of education." She added, His Excellency also launched the Global Trends in E-Learning Exhibition to be a platform for transferring developments in educational technologies. In addition, within the visit schedule, he was briefed on higher education institutions' performance in terms of online education. Also, he launched the university's five-year strategic plan and the new university identity. In a press statement after the visit, she continued, "It is my pleasure, on behalf of all colleagues, to thank His Excellency for honoring us today, as his visit undoubtedly established a new and steady start for the university. Also, it will contribute to maximizing the university ambition and be an incentive to contribute to achieving the Kingdom's leadership in digital education and comprehensive national development; through empowering human resources and improving academic outcomes. To conclude, Alsafadi said that the near future achievement will be based on ambition and confidence, and in line with the goals of the grand vision announced and launched by His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman, Crown Prince.
