Promoting Citizenship Values & Its Impact on Development” a Meeting Enriched by the Participation of His Highness Dr. Abdulaziz Alkhudairi at SEU Campus
His Highness Dr. Abdulaziz Alkhudairi, Former Minister of Culture and Media, stressed that citizenship values are ingrained and rooted in the Saudi people and is considered a role model for others.
This was during a meeting organized by SEU at its headquarters in Riyadh, which was attended by SEU President, Prof. Lilac Alsafadi, faculty members, employees, students, and a number of interested people. The meeting was also streamed via Blackboard for all branches.
His Highness discussed the concept of citizenship, its importance, principles, and values, and citizens' responsibility towards their country. He also discussed the impact of promoting and developing citizenship and national cohesion on increasing bonds, compassion, and resisting tendentious thoughts and malicious information about our country. This would make them contributors to maintaining our country's security and make them give their full potential in serving and preserving its possessions.
He also mentioned that citizenship values boost education and instill loyalty in students. He also stressed on students' vital role in marinating our country's possessions, their duty to promote and develop it, and how they should honor and cherish its achievements, respect its laws, defend it, and obey its leaders.
On the other hand, SEU’s President, Prof. Lilac Alsafadi, stressed that this meeting is among SEU’s extensive efforts towards building an aware community through “Yaqed” initiative, in which we meet with thought and opinion leaders to draw together a well-established approach that enlightens the minds and hearts and makes us ambassadors of moderation.
In addition, Prof. Lilac extended her thanks and appreciation to His Highness Abdulaziz Alkhudairi for visiting the university and meeting its students and employees.
