Saudi Electronics University strategy has leveraged objectives derived from Vision 2030, and UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, as well as Ministry of Education strategic plan and Human Capital Development Programs and SEU resolution of establishment and SWOT analysis.

SEU strategy has defined 3 themes, 3 strategic goals, and 21 objectives derived from its unique competitive advantages through 13 qualitative development initiatives.

First Theme: Learners Empowerment

 

First Goal: provide outstanding education to a broad segment of learners to enable them to achieve their academic and professional ambitions.
Objectives









1. Increase the educational capacity in all university branches.
2. Increase the number of university branches through leveraging technology and local partnerships.
3. Open a virtual branch to offer fully online education programs.
4. Review and develop all bachelor's programs to ensure they meet labor market and national development requirements and use more efficient and effective teaching and assessment methods.
5. Introduce quality bachelor's programs that meet labor market needs.
6. Introduce quality graduate programs in partnership with global universities aligned with local labor market and national development needs.
7. Introduce intermediary academic programs (bachelor's and master's) that meet learners' academic and professional aspirations
8. Introduce condensed educational programs and diplomas aligned with labor market needs, national development, and professional licensing
9. Provide pathways for diploma graduates to obtain bachelor's and master's degrees (bridging).
10. Improve support and counseling services for students.
11. Improve facilities and equipment in all university branches.
12. Support professional development for faculty members.
13. Obtain academic accreditations.
The University has set (6) initiatives to achieve (13) operational objectives to reach the first strategic goal.

Strategic Initiatives 

1. Local Partnerships: Reaching broader segments of learners by increasing local educational partnerships.

2. Programmatic Transformation: Reviewing and developing current educational programs, introducing new educational programs, and ensuring their alignment with academic and professional standards and labor market and national development requirements.
3. Virtual Branch: Opening a virtual branch of the university to offer fully online educational programs
4. Professional Development for Faculty Members: Developing and implementing professional training programs for faculty members based on their teaching and professional needs; to ensure their effective contribution to achieving the university's strategic goals
5. Student Support and Guidance Development: Building and implementing a comprehensive plan to improve the support and guidance provided to students; to overcome the challenges they face during their educational journey.
6. Improving the Educational Environment: Building and implementing a comprehensive plan to improve facilities, equipment, and electronic systems across all university branches to ensure they meet the needs and aspirations of students and faculty members.

Second Theme: Research and Innovation

 

Second Goal: Establish an enabling environment to encourage scientific research and innovation within the framework of national aspirations and priorities, and to effectively contribute to the knowledge-based future.
Objectives 1. Build an integrated system that contributes to the sustainable enhancement of scientific production, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
2. Build research priorities for the university consistent with national research priorities and focused on technical and interdisciplinary specialties.
3. Activate research partnerships locally and internationally.
4. Develop research skills for faculty members.
The University has set (3) initiatives to achieve (4) operational objectives for the second strategic goal.
Strategic Initiatives  1. Supporting Scientific Projects and Research: Building and implementing a mechanism to support scientific research and projects that serve the university's research priorities..
2. Enhancing Research Partnerships with Universities and the Industry Sector: Building and implementing a mechanism to support research partnerships with local and global entities.
3. Developing the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem at the University: Creating an enabling environment for innovation and entrepreneurship activities at the university.

Third Theme: Financial Sustainability

 

Third Goal: Achieve financial sustainability and improve spending efficiency.
Objectives
1. Increase the university's operational revenues.
2. Increase the university's revenues from alternative sources to tuition fees.
3. Increase operational efficiency.
4. Achieve digital transformation.
The University has set (4) initiatives to achieve (4) operational objectives for the third strategic goal.
Strategic Initiatives 1. Activating the University's Investment Plan: Building and implementing a plan to increase the university's alternative revenues to tuition fees.
2. Updating the University's Organizational Structure: Reviewing and updating the university's organizational structure to ensure its appropriateness, efficiency, and clarity of roles and responsibilities, and to elevate the level of accountability.
  3. Developing Policies and Procedures: Reviewing and developing all policies and procedures in the university to ensure the efficiency of operational processes.
  4. Digital Transformation: Building and implementing a digital transformation plan in the university.
