Program Mission

The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) program in Health Informatics (HI) aims to graduate competent Health Informatics specialists who possess knowledge, technical skills, and effective communication abilities, to actively meet the needs of the national job market and the community. The rationale for the proposed Health Informatics (HI) program is to educate students on how to integrate information technology into the entire experience of health care.  

It can be summarized by the following points:  

1. Increasing importance of technology usage in the healthcare field.  
2. To help health organizations to cope with growing responsibilities and health consumers’ expectations.  
3. To contribute to national plans that aim to modernize the healthcare sector relying on highly qualified healthcare professionals and advanced e-health technology.  

Program Goals

The program aims to prepare graduates to be able to:  

1. Operate effectively with and upon a body of knowledge of sufficient depth to begin health informatics professional practice.  
2. Prepare for lifelong reflective learning in pursuit of personal development and excellence in health informatics professional practice.  
3. Be an effective problem solver, capable of applying logical, critical, and creative thinking to a range of problems.
