Overview

The Health Sciences Research Center was established in 2024 with the aim of connecting researchers from the college at the Saudi Electronic University with the community through investment, empowerment, and the activation of local and global partnerships. The College of health sciences affiliated with the university, spread across various regions of the Kingdom, and are home to a distinguished group of faculty members from diverse health and medical backgrounds, who represent an important contribution to national development in pursuit of and contribution to achieving the Saudi Vision 2030.

Leadership in promoting populations’ health and activating partnerships in public health research nationally and globally.

Mission

To empower and support public health through evidence-based research in the discovery and control of epidemics, chronic diseases, and both direct and indirect therapeutic interventions, thereby contributing to the development of plans and recommendations that enhance and empower healthcare facilities as well as health professionals in serving the patients. Additionally, enabling broad-scale research to use large databases to study and analyze health conditions, helping to improve the quality of life across various age groups, and enhancing the health of the working human resources, which contributes to raising the economic level of the nation.

Objectives

- Establishing partnerships and understandings and activating (virtual and field) research visits with health institutions within national and global universities.

- Creating an environment for effective communication between researchers and faculty members in the College of Health Sciences and connecting them with national bodies and international health organizations.

- Supporting specialized programs and activating the role of health personnel to grant and enhance community service.

- Providing knowledge sources and academic information for research teams.

- Supporting and forming specialized research teams and facilitating researchers' tasks.

- Working on improving the quality of research outputs with the aim of publishing in high-impact scientific journals.

- Contributing to raising health awareness to improve the quality of life in line with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.

- Providing scientific, research, and ethical consultations and contributing to linking expertise with promising research projects.

 

Priorities

- Research prevalent medical and behavioral health challenges in Saudi Arabia and explore their connection to the spread of diseases (both communicable and non-communicable).

- Consider updating scientific recommendations and medical practices, or assess their real-world impact.

- Research on the early prevention of chronic diseases and its integration with primary healthcare services.

- Empower the use of digital healthcare and evaluate health equity and equality across all regions of the Kingdom.

- Investigate advanced pharmaceutical technologies and medical interventions, and assess biotech-based solutions and practices.
