Based on the university’s keenness, represented by the Vice Rectorate for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research - the Deanship of Scientific Research - to contribute in accomplishing the Saudi Kingdom’s 2030 vision, where one of its goals is the presence of at least five Saudi universities among the top 200 universities in the global ranking. Since this classification is directly related to the research and development, the Deanship of Scientific Research is pleased to announce the Institutional Funding Program for Research and Development that offered by the Ministry of Education based on the following conditions:

  1. The PI should belong to the Saudi Electronic University; however, a research cooperation with researchers from outside the university is acceptable.
  2. The PI must hold the rank of assistant professor or higher.
  3. The researcher is allowed to be PI in one project and Co-PI in two projects.
  4. The research project should be in one of the announced Saudi Electronic University’ four research areas.
  5. The research project should be based on proven scientific foundations and strong research methodology that show the originality and innovation.
  6. The research team should adhere to the ethics of scientific research.
  7. The research paper should be published in one of the refereed scientific journals.
  8. The research project should be completed within a period not exceeding one year from the date of signing the research contract.

- E-Learning including
  1. Emerging E-learning strategies and its application.
  2. standards and quality of E-learning.
  3. security, privacy and confidentiality in E learning.
  4. Building personalized learning experience by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big data.
- E-Business including:
  1. business process re-engineering and enter organizational system.
  2. E-payment and Fin Tech systems.
  3. Social, cultural, political and economical aspects of business.
  4. E-Business modeling and E-Commerce content management.
  5. E-Business legislation and stakeholders protection.
- E-Health including:
  1. policy, strategy and emerging techniques in E-Health.
  2. Virtual environments, Telemedicine or Biomedical/Biosensors Engineering.
  3. Health Informatics, Digital health or M-health.
  4. Clinical decision support system or health information management system.
- E-Government including:
  1. E-Government Patient security, privacy and the trust.
  2. frameworks and guidelines for E-Government policies, strategies and implementations.
  3. legal, political and government to business issues.
  4. Social, technical, and it can amical aspects of E-Government.

 

Submission and Implementation Mechanisms:
  1. Submission is open from 28\9\2020 to 12\11\2020 [Submission extended].
  2. The PI needs to submit the research application via (the website of the Deanship of Scientific Research RTMS).
  3. The submitted application is subject to review by the Committee of Institutional Finance.
  4. The funding budgets for the approved proposals will be announced through the website of the Deanship of Scientific Research, and the researchers will be notified by emails.
  5. The research contract will be signed between the Committee of Institutional Finance and the PI prior to start the research project.
  6. The PI should provide the Deanship of Scientific Research with a progress report after the lapse of half the period.
  7. The PI should write an acknowledgment statement to the Deanship of Scientific Research at the Saudi Electronic University for supporting the research project through the initiative.
  8. The Committee of Institutional Finance at the Deanship of Scientific Research will disburse the due payment to the PI.
