The department of law participates in the commercial arbitration competition in its international version

       With the support of the President of the University, Prof. Lilac Alsafadi, the Department of Law at the College of Science and Theoretical Studies participates in the commercial arbitration competition in its international version, organized by the Saudi Center for Arbitration, with a team for male students and another for females, with the support and motivation of Her Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Soha Mohammed Fallata and His Excellency the Head of the Law Department, Dr. Nafea Al- Sehli,

This competition targets students of the faculties of Law, Law and Sharia, from all over the world, to compete in virtual arbitration cases, in Arabic, simulating the reality of international commercial arbitration cases. Each competing team performs a real simulation of the role of the plaintiff and the defendant, by submitting written notes and oral arguments, in front of an elite group of international arbitrators, which will enhance the practical dimension of the academic knowledge received by the student during his academic career.

This is based on the keenness of the law department to develop the student's self-work abilities, and to provide him with the ability to deal with practical legal issues and issues in a scientific and systematic manner, which makes him eligible to engage in professional working life within the objectives of the program and its expected outcomes.

The training of the female students’ team is supervised by His Excellency Dr. Salem Al-Azizi and Mrs. Maha Al-Otaibi. The female students of the team, who are: (Nujud Al-Rashidi, Lamia Al-Hamid, Dalaa Al-Sudais, Amina Al-Otaibi, Hanouf Haddadi, Ibtisam Al-Mutairi) made distinguished efforts in preparing the memorandum of the plaintiff and the defendant, and in the stage of friendly pleadings during the blessed month of Ramadan 1444 AH with the female student’s team of Umm Al-Qura University.

The same applies to the team of students who are distinguished and diligent, and they are: (Muhammad Bawazir, Abdul Rahman Al-Qarni, Faisal bin Suhaim, Wael Al-Awaji, Bandar Al-Sharif, Iyad Al-Zahrani), who supervise their training, His Excellency Dr. Hafez Bouaziz and Dr. Majid Al-Zahrani. And with the support of both teams of their Excellencies in the Supervision and Scientific Participation Committee, His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Zeer, Dr. Ahmed Al-Junaidel, and Mr. Abdullah Al-Qashami.

It is worth noting that this is not the first participation of the department's students in such legal competitions. It was preceded by the students' participation in the student arbitration competition organized by the same center in Rajab 1441 AH, and the students' participation in the commercial law competition in Austria in Shaaban 1441 AH. The participating teams value this opportunity and this support from the Saudi Electronic University and the Saudi Center for Arbitration and promise to provide their best during the pleadings stage at the beginning of next month, Dhul Qi’dah 1444 AH.
