Introduction

Upon successful completion of the first common year, the student must have a score of (65) in the Step test to enter the English language department. After joining the English Department, the student spends three years in the department studying linguistics and translation courses. In addition to a number of general obligatory courses in Islamic and Arabic studies. Eventually, the students gain127 credit by the end of the fourth year and graduates.

The Importance and Reasons for Creating the Program

The top priority of the Department of English Language and Translation is to improve students’ linguistic competence, provide them with intensive knowledge, increase their linguistic knowledge proficiency, and increase their cultural knowledge related to English language, which establishes a constructive ground for creating knowledge communication bridges with English-speaking people around the world, and enable them to translate in both written and verbal forms.

Description of the cooperative training of The Bachelor of English language and translation program:

Cooperative training in the Department of English language and translation is a course within the Bachelor of English language and translation program at the Faculty of Science and theoretical studies, approved in implementation of the decision of the Council of university affairs No. 6890.

The student spends at least six months in cooperative training, with a minimum of 460 training hours, both in the public and private sectors in the fields of interpretation and translation.

Number of credit hours:6 hours

Terms of cooperative training

First: the conditions that must be met at the training center in order to be accepted

* Fill in the registration form and seal it by the training authority.

* The start date of the internship must be in accordance with what is specified in the announcement.

* The duration of the training should not be less than 6 months, with a minimum of 460 training hours.

* The training tasks in the registration form must be related to the areas of interpretation and translation.

* The training should be in-person at the training location and not online, and the entity is approved through the registration form.

* Any training that the student starts before obtaining the final approval from the training committee of the college is not considered.

* Failure to submit any report within the specified deadlines leads to the student's failure to succeed in the course.

 

Secondly: the registration conditions (for the student)

1- The student must register in the cooperative training course before the start of the semester designated for training.

2- The student must be registered in the seventh level of the semester in which he wishes to register for the cooperative training course.

3- The student can register courses with the cooperative training course, not exceeding the maximum limit for registering academic units.
